Gram-Utthan is implementing the “Sustainable Aquaculture for Food & Livelihood (SAFAL) supported by German Cooperation & GIZ Germany.

The overall goal of the project is to improve fish production, income and employment, food and nutritional security by reducing poverty in the region and enhancing the capacities, institutional building of aquaculture farmers.

Primary Objectives of the Project:  

1.             To improve the competitiveness of smallholder aquaculture farmers by adopting responsible aquaculture farming practices

2.             Develop Carders’ of Community Resource Persons (CRPs) who in turn would train the new aquaculture farmers locally using the acquired knowledge for better aquaculture farming system.

3.             Strengthening FPOs, FRCs and establishing institutional arrangement to enhance productivity and linking the producer groups to different market aggregators with access to finance and various government supported schemes.
